The documented facts: Nazi Germany had technology 10-15 years ahead of the Allies. Nazi scientists were transferred wholesale into US institutions via Operation Paperclip. A large US Navy operation to Antarctica was cut short under unexplained circumstances in 1947. OPERATION HIGHJUMP — 1947
Admiral Richard Byrd led a 4,700-man US Navy operation to Antarctica in 1947 — code name Operation Highjump. The official reason: scientific exploration. The mission was cut short after 8 weeks — originally planned for 6-8 months. Byrd returned and in a Chilean interview stated they encountered "a new enemy that could fly from pole to pole at incredible speeds." The operation was immediately classified. BASE 211 — THE NAZI ANTARCTIC INSTALLATION
Germany sent two expeditions to Antarctica in 1938 and 1939 — the Schwabenland expeditions. They mapped 600,000 km² of territory and renamed it Neuschwabenland.
